BCIC encourages the development and application of advanced or innovative technologies to meet the needs of industry in BC. We accelerate technology commercialization by supporting startups and developing entrepreneurs. With our partners, BCIC delivers programs and initiatives that promote company growth, resulting in jobs, increased revenue and economic development in BC.

BCIC is a Crown Agency of the Province of British Columbia.

With the mission to accelerate the commercialization of technology through the support of startups and the development of entrepreneurs, BCIC encourages the development and application of advanced or innovative technologies to meet the needs of industry in BC.

BCIC has recently established the BCIC Acceleration Network, and will soon unveil an exciting new program designed to get the most innovative products to market faster!

Northern Development Initiative Trust

The Northern Development Initiative Trust board, regional advisory committees and staff have a passion for growing the economy of central and northern British Columbia. When the Premier of British Columbia announced the Northern Development Initiative Trust, it was on the premise that, “The best economic development decisions for the North should be made in the North.”

Northern Development is an independent, non-profit corporation; a catalyst stimulating economic growth through investments in grassroots, community-led projects.

BCIT Commercialization Assistance Program (CAP)

The CAP team at the British Columbia Institute of Technology offers support services to entrepreneurs and SMEs and helps commercialize new services, products and processes.  Companies that benefit from the program are beyond the proof of concept stage and are developing, testing, validating, or applying for IP on a pre-commercial product. Qualified companies are encouraged to submit a Business Assistance Request to register.

Science Fair Foundation of BC

The Science Fair Foundation BC serves to support, organize, stage and fund-raise for Science Fairs in BC. This extends to Local, Regional, Canada-Wide and International Science Fairs where students supported by the foundation have consistently produced high standard projects. In British Columbia, 14 regional fairs are part of the nearly 100 fairs held every year across Canada.  The Pacific Northwest Regional Science Fair is held in Northwest BC each spring.
