Growth Strategy Regional Outreach Program for Technology CEO's CEOs of technology companies in regional BC are encouraged to attend the upcoming “Growth Strategy Regional Outreach Program for technology CEOs” being offered in Victoria, Kelowna and Prince George. BC Innovation Council (BCIC) has partnered with ACETECH to provide the Growth Strategy Regional Outreach Program for CEOs of technology companies from regional BC. This program includes a series of half day workshops, exclusive to technology CEOs, that deliver actionable tools focused on market positioning and sales strategy/sales process that can be implemented next day back at the office. These best practices workshops will introduce CEOs to some of the key principles of the ACETECH Growth Strategy Program that is designed to help companies double their revenue in 12 months. The Growth Strategy Regional Outreach Program also provides a limited number of BCIC scholarships to encourage CEOs to participate in the full year ACETECH’s Growth Strategy Program. The Best Practices Workshops will be held in three locations – Victoria, Kelowna, and Prince George in Fall 2009. Technology CEOs from regions outside of these cities are encouraged to participate. Purpose of the Growth Strategy Regional Outreach Program (Fall 2009) The Growth Strategy Regional Outreach Program has three purposes:
1. To provide an opportunity for technology CEOs from regional BC to participate in the ACETECH Growth Strategy Program through a scholarship program. 2. To provide best practices workshops for technology CEOs in three locations: Kelowna, Victoria, and Prince George; participants from nearby communities are welcome. 3. To train mentors in the principles of the ACETECH Growth Strategy Program so that they can mentor technology companies in their own communities with a proven model and roadmap for success.
About the ACETECH Growth Strategy Program The goal of the ACETECH Growth Strategy Program is to help technology companies double their revenue in 12 months. The idea is to identify the few things that need to be done well to commercialize the opportunity, teach the best practices models for each of those things, and provide mentorship so that the models become “live” in the company and part of the rhythm and discipline of the business. Scholarships BCIC is providing six scholarships of $4,000 each to supplement the costs for technology CEOs from outside the Lower Mainland to participate in the ACETECH Growth Strategy Program. The cost of the Growth Strategy Program is $695 per month for a 12 month period. CEOs must be prepared to travel to Vancouver once a month over the course of the year. Best Practices Workshops ACETECH in partnership with BCIC and in cooperation with the local technology industry associations is providing best practices workshops for CEOs to learn valuable skills that they can use next day back at the office, and also to sample what a session at the ACETECH Growth Strategy Program is like before they apply for a scholarship.
Mentor Training The BCIC Mentor Training Program provides an opportunity to past CEOs who are passionate about helping early stage companies and who are interested in giving back to their community to become trained as mentors in the ACETECH Growth Strategy Program. Mentors will be taught the principles and best practices of the Growth Strategy Program providing a road map to help companies in their community get traction fast. Three mentors from outside the Lower Mainland will be chosen to participate in the program. Up to $4,000 will be paid for travel expenses and a small honorarium for quarterly mentoring sessions with technology CEOs.
