NSIS Receives $5,000 from Northern Savings Credit Union OPPORTUNITIES FOR student to learn about science will increase thanks to a $5,000 cheque from the Northern Savings Credit Union. The money was presented to Northwest Science and Innovation Society executive director Christine Slanz. The donation was made during Credit Union Week by Northern savings which distributed cheques to various community organizations. The credit union in Terrace distributed $20,000 this year to seven groups. The $20,000 annual donations program in Terrace stems from a commitment made in 2004 to distribute a sum of money equally between four branches maintained by the credit union in the northwest. This year the commitment was $80,000 and the board reviewed 100 grant applications
